Founded in 2018 at the University of Cambridge, the Pegasus Quartet brings together young string players, united in our rigorous classical training, and a desire to take apart the music we love, reconstruct them, and experience them in a whole new way. We then share that joy with you and your guests, in such a way that you will hopefully leave wanting more.
The Pegasus Quartet comprises some of the most active musicians in the Cambridge scene, all of whom are students. Past engagements include: St. John's College May Ball, Emmanuel College May Ball, Jesus College May Ball, Downing College May Ball, Trinity Hall June Event, Robinson College May Ball, Gonville & Caius College May Ball, Pembroke College May Ball, Peterhouse May Ball, Darwin College May Ball and Sidney Sussex June Event.

Classical music forms the rudiment of our quartet. However, we prefer gigs with a focus in more modern music. Chris, our cellist, arranges all the music we play. Do let us know the songs you would like us to play. If they are popular enough, we will already have it in store for you. And if we don't, fret not. We will add it to our queue for the future.

We invited the Pegasus Quartet to play outdoors for our Annual Garden Party this year at incredibly short notice. Chris's friendliness, eagerness to help and professionalism meant that everything was arranged effortlessly. We received considerable praise from our guests regarding the quality of playing, diversity of music and the overall ambience. We would be delighted to have the Pegasus Quartet again.
The Pegasus Quartet entertained us splendidly. Their music was well chosen to the tastes of our guests, with plenty of variety and several interesting new arrangements of well-known songs. Many friends told us afterwards how much they had enjoyed the Quartet's playing, and would have willingly listened to a full 'concert' performance! Thank you again, Pegasus!

The Pegasus String Quartet performed a 60-minute set for the dining guests at Downing May Ball 2022. The guys were easy to deal with beforehand, arrived early, and put on a great performance. Pegasus played fresh string-based covers of songs from Adele, Pavarotti, Harry Styles, and more! The guests loved it.
We’d like to thank the guys for choosing to perform at DMB22. To anyone looking for a string group, or more generally for something fresh and different - we cannot recommend Pegasus enough!
